WFN Allies: Opening Doors Together

Women in Fenestration Network launches WFN Allies, inviting men across the industry to help create more opportunities for women.

The Women in Fenestration Network (WFN) has launched WFN Allies, an initiative encouraging men working across the fenestration industry to actively support, champion and help develop women at every stage of their careers.

Launched at the Glazing Summit, WFN Allies recognises that creating a more balanced industry isn't something women can achieve alone. It takes the support of colleagues, managers and business leaders who are willing to encourage others, share their experience and help open doors.

The initiative builds on WFN's commitment to Connect, Develop and Inspire, bringing people together from across the industry to share knowledge, build confidence and create opportunities for professional development.

Sioned Yates, Co-Founder of WFN, explains:

"Having worked in this industry for over 30 years, I've seen how much things have changed, but also how much more we can achieve by working together.

"WFN was never intended to be about women versus men. It's about recognising the talent we have across our industry and making sure women have the opportunities, encouragement and support to develop their careers.

"Many of us have benefited from people who have believed in us, given us advice or opened a door at the right time. Often those people have been men.

"That's really what WFN Allies is about. We're asking men across the industry to get behind the network, encourage the women they work with to get involved and help us build something that benefits the industry as a whole."

What does being a WFN Ally involve?

Becoming a WFN Ally doesn't require a formal commitment or a big investment of time. It's about making a difference through everyday actions.

That might mean encouraging a female colleague to join WFN, supporting someone to attend a development event, sharing knowledge through mentoring or simply recognising potential and helping someone take their next step.

It's also about creating a space where men can be part of the conversation, share experiences and contribute to a more balanced and supportive industry.

Get involved

WFN is inviting men from across the fenestration industry, whatever their role or level of experience, to become WFN Allies.

Whether you're a business owner, senior leader, manager or colleague, there's an opportunity to make a difference.

Become a WFN Ally and help us open more doors together.
